| Thallus brownish to olive-green, lacking  pseudocyphellae, corticate. Ascomata solitary, subglobose, erumpent from the  substratum, the sides often partly covered by the thallus, c. 0.3–0.5 mm diam. Ascomatal  wall with crystals, to 100 μm thick; ostiole apical, pale. Hamathecium not inspersed  with oil droplets, IKI+ blue. Ascospores 8 per ascus, irregularly biseriate,  3-septate, elongate-ellipsoidal, with rounded ends, grey, 17–22 × 9–12 μm; lumina angular; terminal lumina not  separated from the exospore. CHEMISTRY: No substances detected. | ||
| Common in north-eastern Qld; also on Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island. Mainly pantropical, usually found in open, coastal habitats. | ||
